Property & Evidence Section

The property and evidence section is responsible for preserving the chain of custody of evidence and assuring that all materials are stored in their pristine state. 

The unit also is responsible for logging and tracking the location of evidence and lost property, as well as the retention and destruction of these items as dictated by the rules of evidence and state laws.  Items are submitted, organized and tracked through the use of a computerized bar-coding system.

The property and evidence section is also responsible for maintaining an archive of all of our in-car video documentation. 

Property and Evidence Custodian William Mann is a retired Sergeant with the Massachusetts State Police.
