Marine Patrol

 

 

The Marine Unit was initiated in 1998 and was developed with several key missions in mind:

- The promotion of marine safety

- Response to maritime accidents or distress calls

- Narcotics interdiction

-Illegal immigrant smuggling interdiction

The Marine Unit has made several notable contributions in these areas since it's inception. 

There are currently several departmental personnel who have received both U.S. Customs and U.S. Coast Guard Certifications. 

These credentials allow these highly specialized officers to   participate in federally authorized vessel boardings and inspections.
