Lt. Grant Lanier has 29 years of law
enforcement experience. He spent six years in the United States
Air Force as a security police officer; worked two years at the
Lake Worth Police Department and in 1987 joined the Boynton
Beach Police Department.
Lt. Lanier has held numerous positions within the Boynton Beach
Police Department, including field training officer, ethics
instructor, and crime prevention practitioner. He is a certified
state convenience store security inspector and has taught
robbery prevention for the Florida Attorney General's Office.
Lt. Lanier is currently commander of the Boynton Beach Police
and Fire Communications Center, which serves as the lifeline to
both the public and field personnel. He is also a certified
crisis intervention officer.
Lt. Lanier's education background includes an AA in criminal
justice from Miami-Dade Community College and a bachelor's in
criminal justice from the University of Great Falls (which he
attended while in the U.S. Air Force). Lt. Lanier is also a
graduate of the Southern Police Institute, a division of the
Department of Justice Administration, College of Arts and
Sciences, University of Louisville.
