K9 Unit

The Boynton Beach Police K9 Unit was established to assist officers in a variety of law enforcement situations. 

Assigned to the Special Operations section of Uniform Services, the K9 Unit is comprised of four highly-trained K9 teams. These K9 teams are used to supplement the Boynton Beach Police Department's services to the community.

The highly-skilled teams of handlers and K9's provide the following services: 

• Criminal apprehension (to include tracking, area searches, building searches) illegal narcotic detection 

• Evidence searches 

• Locate missing/endangered persons

• Provide public K9 demonstrations
