The Honor Guard exists to provide a ceremonial escort at the
funeral of a fallen officer. At a moments notice, the unit can
be mobilized to attend the funeral of a fallen officer anywhere
in the State of Florida.
The Honor Guard also serve as "guardians of the colors,"
protecting the flags displayed at ceremonial functions. Honor
Guard members are ambassadors to the community, dedicated to
preserving tradition.
The Boynton Beach Police Department's Honor Guard is comprised
of 20 members under the direction of Honor Guard Commander Lt.
Paul Deale.
The team performs annually on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and
Memorial Day, during Law Enforcement Memorial Week and the
City's Holiday Parade.
