Mike Rumph Hosts 6th Annual Football Camp

Boynton Beach youth will have a chance to play with the pros this summer when former NFL player Mike Rumph hosts his sixth annual football camp.

Registration is underway for kids ages 8-15 for the Mike Rumph Football Camp, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 9-11 at the Ezell Hester Center, 1901 N. Seacrest Blvd, Boynton Beach. Players will concentrate on speed, strength and conditioning during the camp, which encompasses all teams and positions.

Rumph is an Atlantic High School graduate who played for the Boynton Beach Police Athletic League’s inaugural football team, the Bulldogs. He’ll get coaching help from some of his NFL friends – Tampa Bay Buccaneer’s safety Sabby Piscitelli, a Boca Raton High School graduate, and Oakland Raiders defensive tackle Josh Shaw. The cost of the camp is $75. All proceeds benefit the Boynton Beach Police Athletic League.

To register, call Officer Bill Tome at (561) 702-4887 or (561) 742-6190.

The camp concludes with a celebrity basketball game at 7 p.m. on July 11 at the Hester Center. Police officers will compete against athletes including C.J. Jones of the New England Patriots, Jimmy Williams of the Seattle Seahawks and Frank Gore of the San Francisco 49er's. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door.
