The CRA Police Unit was established in February 2008 to enhance law enforcement services to the residents, businesses and visitors of the growing CRA District. The Boynton Beach Police Department and the Boynton Beach CRA teamed up to create a special CRA Police Unit, which is funded by the CRA and specifically services the CRA District by car and bicycle.
The fundamental goal of the CRA Police Unit is to proactively address quality of life issues through the development of strong partnerships with members of the community. Utilizing a problem-oriented policing strategy, the CRA Police Unit can effectively and efficiently patrol the CRA District and increase community safety.
The CRA Police Unit is comprised of a sergeant and four officers who work to suppress criminal activity and address quality of life issues in a proactive manner. By analyzing criminal activity, receiving input from citizens, working with informants and conducting surveillance, the CRA Police Unit can effectively deploy their resources to ensure the CRA District is a safe and enjoyable place to live, work and play.
