Boynton Beach Police Department Animal Control Officers (ACOs)
enforce local ordinances and state statutes to ensure the
responsible ownership and humane treatment of all animals. ACOs
respond to citizen complaints - including stray animals,
nuisance domestic animals, sick or injured wildlife, dangerous
dogs and animal cruelty.
Irresponsible pet ownership poses a threat to the welfare of all
citizens. For the safety of your animal and your fellow
citizens, please keep all household pets securely confined to
your property or under proper restraint at all times.
It's the law!
Chapter 4 of the City of Boynton Beach's Code of Ordinances
governs the basic keeping of personal pets. Livestock, poultry
and farm animals are not allowed within the city limits.
Residents that harbor wild animals or exotic animals must
possess a current permit from the Florida Fish and Wildlife
Conservation Commission, if applicable.
