Administrative Services

It is in the Administrative Division that operational strategies and philosophies are implemented. The members of the department's administration are the persons who: write policies, train employees, investigate acts of alleged misconduct, and maintain financial accountability in routine operations of the department.  Administrative members are also responsible for innovating and maintaining our computer systems as well as addressing morale issues during times of personal and professional crisis.  It is the vision of this group of professionals which sets the tone for the manner in which operations are conducted throughout the department.

The Boynton Beach Police Department started on June 12, 1920, when the city employed  Town Marshall Fred Benson  to patrol Boynton Beach on a bicycle.

The City has since employed 30 Chiefs of Police, including Chief G. Matthew Immler, who was sworn in on Sept. 2, 2005.
